Toll-road preview

For those of you dear readers who choose to live in the Monopoly house hell that exists north of 1604 between 10 and 281 you might find this story from Pennsylvania quite scary. You're going to pay more when whatever foreign entity that ends up owning our highways figures out this scam.

Toll road opposition intimidated?

WOAI radio is reporting that County Commish Tommy Adkisson has sent a letter to Governor Perry in which he accused TxDOT officials with intimidating those who voted "no" in Monday's toll road vote.

How much of a surprise is this? Rick Perry's Trans-Texas Corridor and his favor of toll-roads gives TxDOT an ally more power than Adkisson and Lyle Larson.

What can they be afraid of? The voters? That doesn't affect TxDOT. And 6 of 10 voters didn't vote for Perry and that didn't stop him from getting re-elected.

They will shove the Corridor and toll-roads right down our throats.

Toll Roads are coming

Just two days ago I predicted County Commish Lyle Larson's plan to fight the toll roads would fail.

On Monday night the Metropolitan Planning Organization voted 9-6 against his proposal.  WOAI.com reports that construction on toll roads could begin shortly.

The double taxation will be a reality. We've already been taxed for those roads to be built. Now we're going to get taxed again for the privilege of driving on them.

Toll road battle shaping up

County Commish Lyle Larson is putting together allies to help him fight Almighty TxDOT, praise be their name, in their jihad against free highways.

My prediction is Larson & Co. will still lose. TxDOT will get what they want.
