Okay, the E-N reports that a school was locked down and a student will be disciplined for bringing a TOY GUN to school.
Are you kidding me? A toy gun? And of course the article makes the obligatory mention of Virginia Tech.
A toy gun? Give me a break. Next they're going to expel kids for pointing their finger and saying "bang" during recess.
I blame the media. The coverage of the VT shooting, and the post 9/11 fear-mongering in general, has made people afraid of lite-brite cartoons and toy guns.
